My Elsie Rose is talking and singing lots these days, getting a strong vocabulary. She's really stretching out, 35 in, size 6t feet, and getting another set of upper molars. Getting molars this time around is not nearly so bad, maybe because she can communicate to us and say what hurts or if she needs medicine or ice. And she loves loves loves playing doctor, especially when Dad is her doctor. so anytime something hurts we can usually play doctor and make her feel better.
We recently began Kindermusik classes with Miss Debbie and she took to them really fast! She gets into all the activities, loves to try new things, dances, sings, loves story time on the big blanket, and digs it when we practice our songs at home. the funny thing is, I had to go out to Walmart and buy myself a CD player because we don't have anything that can play CDs. my mom had gotten me a bunch of CDs from garage sales, and then we got some for this music class oh, so I really wanted to play them with her. but none of our devices, computers, PlayStation, or even our cars have cd players anymore! So I bought the cheap $25 one cuz I know ER is obsessed with buttons and figuring out how things work, so I won't be out much if it breaks. On second thought, maybe I should have splurged for the protection the fee...
She's also doing Level 2 swim classes where she's on her own in the water with the instructor, dad gets to sit on the side :-( they still go to open swim together on other days though.
Lots of going to the Madison children's museum, Spencer tries to go once a week during the day when it's not too busy and Elsie loves it! She's starting to know that Mondays are music days, Tuesdays are music days, Fridays are swim days etc. The museum itself is awesome, five stories of tons of things for kids to do, explore, play with! we've gone off and on in the past, but she's getting to be that age where it's really really fun!
As an aside, Madison has been awesome for kids, absolutely tons of things to do! Splash parks, indoor and outdoor Parks everywhere, children's museums, great schools when it gets to that point (next year).
Bedtime is evolving into something much more manageable, the toddler bed has really helped. Routine lately looks like this: dinner, bath, run around until 715, watch cocomelon or Dave and Ava on YouTube 15 minutes and get PJs on, go upstairs and read a book or 4
turn off the lights and we lay down near bed, her in her bed. Usually within a half hour to an hour she falls asleep :-( lots of rustling, asking to cover her up, singing, rolling around, asking to cover her up again, sometimes she'll bonk something on something and need a kiss, then "please cover up" again. But usually Spencer and I can just lay there and even fall asleep sometimes.
Finally, making the official announcement WE ARE POTTY TRAINED! Spencer and I have been working up to this for months, and I decided to finally pull the trigger, buy some fun underwear for her and go diaperless. still aware of pull up out and about until we're used to going potty in the public. And still wear diapers at night for now. She was definitely ready, already knew what it meant to go potty, we just needed to nudge her to ALWAYS use the potty from now on. She is so smart, it seriously took her less than a day, with some accidents, but I'm so so proud of her! What underwear did she choose? We looked online and up all of her options, Elmo, flowers, unicorns, she wanted Daniel Tiger. But for whatever reason they only sell little boys Daniel tiger underwear?! So who cares, I got her some little boy underwear. Then we went to Walmart the next day and she picked out flowery pink and aqua little girls underwear. Size 2T if interested!
